The Beaufort Guide

Bill Reynolds and Davis Folsom have been tour guides in Beaufort, South Carolina for years and decided to put together a handy guide that included all the great things that Beaufort has to offer – many that you might miss or never find out about without the help of local tour guides.

Covid gave us time to put together this guide to Beaufort’s remarkable Lowcountry life; a saltwater natural paradise, fun festivals, seafood delicacies, amazing history, and unique way of living.

Learn about “Beaufort time, Frogmore Stew, the “Beaufort Wave,” and many scenes from Forrest Gump, Prince of Tides, The Big Chill and other movies filmed here.  Attend our seasonal events including Taste of Beaufort, Shrimp, Gullah, Heritage Days, Night on the Town and Water Festivals.  Enjoy the Fripp music scene or Paris Avenue street dances.  Kayak, fish or fly over our estuaries, nurseries for shrimp, crab, oysters and clams.  Walk the Spanish Moss Trail or any of our state and local parks.  Join our tour of homes, tree walk, garden-a-day, or turtle watch.

Use our guide to decide when to come here, what not to miss, and make plans for many special events and activities available.  We have divided the book into five sections: Get Outdoors, Events and Things to Do, History and Culture, Food and Drink, and Shopping.

If you live here, send our book to your friends, but only if you want them to stay longer!
